STUNNING 1975 BROADCAST FROM THE MIGHTY QUO!

Status Quo’s eighth studio album, "On The Level", was released in February 1975, and included the single ‘Down Down’, which gave the band their only number-one hit to date. When the record was released, Quo were more or less at the peak of their career, record sales-wise. The album entered the chart at #1.

Just a couple of days before "On The Level" was released, Status Quo were in Germany, and on Feb 22nd, performed at the Rheingold Halle, in Mainz, where they put on a superb show which was recorded for live radio broadcast across Europe. Playing cuts from the new record, mixed with a fine selection of back catalogue favourites, and a couple of choice covers - in the form of The Doors' ‘Roadhouse Blues’, and an extended version of Chuck Berry’s ‘Bye Bye Johnny’, the concert was a huge success which the crowd clearly went crazy for.
