The fifth full-length album from Ohio metalcore giants Like Moths To Flames, No Eternity In Gold. The album is an acerbic dissection of religion and the use of faith as a system of control, born from vocalist Chris Roetter’s own experiences, upbringing and self-examination.
“Religion was super important to me growing up; having a faith instilled in me that something better was going to happen,” he explains. “As I grew older, I found that the problems I was facing were worked out by confronting them and facing them down - not by relying on some larger force to save me.” ‘Selective Sacrifice’, the final single before the album dropped, perfectly embodies all aspects of Roetter’s vision for the record.
The lineup is completed by bassist and backing vocalist Aaron Evans, lead guitarist Jeremy Smith and rhythm guitarist Zach Pishney. Fans of The Devil Wears Prada and Miss May I are likely to enjoy this follow-up to the band’s 2017 album, Dark Divine.
