• THE MIAMI SOUNDCHECK • The Rolling Stones' tour to promote their 1994 album Voodoo Lounge ran from 1st August '94 until the end of August '95, and took in every world continent, save for Antarctica. • It was the first Stones tour without bassist Bill Wyman, and their first with touring bassist Darryl Jones as an additional musician. The tour grossed $320 million, replacing The Division Bell Tour by Pink Floyd as the highest grossing of any artist at that time. The band's famous concert at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami on 25th November '94 remains the best-known date from the tour, broadcast as it was at the time as a pay-to-view special and later released on DVD and CD, the performance remains a fan favourite to this day. • But a little-known oddity, in the form of the group's rehearsal on the day before the show, 24th November 1994, remains in the can too, recorded as it was for broadcast also, but only on a local Miami station who, somehow, got hold of the tapes and came to an arrangement with the group. • Never before released, this remarkable 24th November recording is now available for the first time on this CD, performed to an all but empty stadium - a normal event for the Rolling Stones and other world class musical groups, but a rare treat for fans of the band who would normally never get to hear such a recording.
